| Film-O-Clean operates automatically as film advances. Periodic monitoring is encouraged and the projectionist may visually verify proper operation.
Operating Film-O-Clean with a Film Projector
Projector usage is simple - After threading, turn the projector on to commence operation.
Should film need to be reversed or rewound, simply disengage FilmO-Clean by unthreading the mechanism. Unthreading is simple due to the slot-load design.
It is normal for film tension to vary constantly during projection. Film-O-Clean is designed to accommodate minor variances in film tension. Providing additional film tension is not required unless excessive slack develops and film is prone to unthread.
Damaged film reels and/or erratic film delivery may cause Film-OClean to unthread during operation - cease operation immediately if unthreading occurs. Ensure film delivery is as smooth as possible.
Operating Film-O-Clean on a Rewind Bench
When operating Film-O-Clean between rewinds, proper film tension and rewind speed are crucial. As rewind speed increases so does film tension. While it is possible to clean more quickly by providing additional film tension, this is not recommended due to the additional stress imparted to film. Multiple passes are better for film than one "hard" cleaning. We suggest moderate film tension and slow speed for best results.
